The Diving Bell and the Butterfly fantasy scene starts with very uplifting music with him remembering his life and then the realisation sets in when he realised he can't do those things again and that he took life for granted. All he has is his imagination which is why it is uplifting and then when he realised that's all he has that why the music starts to get sadder and more depressing. The sound bridge at the end to show that he is thinking about what we have just seen.  The shaving scene the lack on sound make the audience focus on the task which is being carried about and want the audience to make up their own mind on how to feel about what is happening through the way the venerability is shown by the shaving his father stubble off his face.
