https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKV7qeHAmLM In this clip the setting is shown as there is continuous rain through which is pathetic fallacy which conveys the presence of evil spirits there before we even get to see it, which sets a very dark and there is a sense of danger through this part of the clip. Then the lighting that is used is soft fill lighting this makes her look very pale this also adds to her looking scared but trying to look strong by shouting at the demon and stating that she has it's name which gives her power making her seem more confident contradicted by the lighting making her look pale. There is also a lack of lighting when we go to her husband in the house fumbling up the stairs trying to find his daughter, he also shouting trying to show he is not afraid of any spirits or the crooked man. Halloween Opening Sequence. How Is Meaning Created?

The meaning in the opening sequence of Halloween is created by the performance of the two teenagers who seem to be in love which makes his murder more shocking and also is more intimate for the audience. This also means we can connect with the killer as the film started with us looking through his eyes as this is a point of view shot with no cuts or edits this shows life truly, as there are no cuts or edits in reality. This also hides the fact that the killer is a young boy with it being a point of view shot the big reveal that when he comes out of the house he is revealed as a child not an older sibling of the girl.  The beginning  is very clear for establishing the scene as we see a long shot of the house and then the point of view shot takes us round the side giving us a better look at the family home that is being shown before we even step foot inside the house. 1. The furniture in the room is covered by the white sheets, what are they meant to remind us of ? The furniture in the room is covered by white sheets this is meant to remind us of supernatural creators such as ghosts which makes us see this as a scary scene. 2. How is the camera positioned in different ways to make us feel scared for Grace ? The camera angles that are used are close ups and tracking shots which keeps her close to the camera which means we can see her reaction to her hearing the whispers and the tracking shots are to make us feel like we are the ones that are whispering to Grace and making her feel uncomfortable. the tracking shot also allows us to feel like we are present and that means we can feel Grace's fear. 3.
