1. The furniture in the room is covered by the white sheets, what are they meant to remind us of ?
The furniture in the room is covered by white sheets this is meant to remind us of supernatural creators such as ghosts which makes us see this as a scary scene.
2. How is the camera positioned in different ways to make us feel scared for Grace ?
The camera angles that are used are close ups and tracking shots which keeps her close to the camera which means we can see her reaction to her hearing the whispers and the tracking shots are to make us feel like we are the ones that are whispering to Grace and making her feel uncomfortable. the tracking shot also allows us to feel like we are present and that means we can feel Grace's fear.
3. How is sound used in the sequence to scare us ?
Throughout this extract both non-digetic and digetic sound are used as the whispers she hears are what can be heard on set as it is part of the action this is digetic sound and makes Grace's fear seem more realistic. The non-digetic sound add the element of tension as it builds through the scene as Grace's fear increases.
